GOLF


We sit nestled between some of the finest golf links in the world.

 

KINGSBARNS

Golf has been enjoyed over the links land of Kingsbarns since 1793. Now a Worldwide Top 50 ranked course, Kingsbarns Golf Links stretches along 1.8 miles of coastline, each hole embracing glorious views of the sea.

ST. ANDREWS

With a charter recognising the rights of St. Andrews’ residents to play golf, it truly is the home of the sport. With over 600 years of history and the oldest course in the world, it  is a must-see for any enthusiast.

KINGSBARNS

An award-winning distillery on the nearby Cambo Estate that’s proud of its local heritage, Kingsbarns Distillery produces a Lowland single malt whisky, using local barley and water from its own well. The visitor centre is always open to visitors who’d like to explore how this iconic spirit is made.  The Distillery offers both Kingsbarns Whisky Tours and Darnley’s Gin Tours.  

LINDORES 

Built around an ancient abbey, Lindores  is steeped in Scottish history. Lindores provides a  unique experience, perfect for those with a fascination for fine whisky. 

WALKS

WALKS AND GARDENS

​Our local area is filled with numerous walks, ideal for dog owners  and explorers!  Our woods and beaches are only minutes away, giving your the opportunity to get into nature and find peace and tranquility.

CAMBO ESTATE

Just a short stroll from Kingsbarns, Cambo Country House and Gardens is nestled in ancient woodlands, rich in habitat for wildlife, and has a network of paths to take you towards Cambo Sands and the North Sea. At its heart is a 2.5 acre walled garden, which dates from the 1800’s. The gardens and woodlands house a Plant Heritage national collection of snowdrops, plus there’s a visitor centre and cafe open all year round.

Accessible by foot, Crail is a  historic fishing village with a fantastic array of facilities, from galleries, to shops, and even its own heritage centre.

CRAIL

A historic fishing village, Crail’s perfect for those wishing to see
a quieter, truly genuine part of Scotland’s past. With galleries, shops, and a heritage centre, there’s no finer way to pass a day than a leisurely exploration of Crail. 

ST. MONANS

A fine little village, St. Monans historical quality can be found

in its buildings. Many charming 17th and 18th century houses sit alongside the historic industrial features of saltpans, windmill, and a beautiful, seaside church, that still serves the local parish. 

PITTENWEEM

With a fantastic harbour and picturesque houses, Pittenweem

is an idyllic village to visit. With a beautiful parish church and intriguing ruins, visitors can find many things to delve into in
this quiet corner of Fife’s East Neuk. 

ANSTRUTHER

The largest fishing villages in the East Neuk, Anstruther, suitably, possesses an award-winning fish bar, supplied fresh daily. Visitors can explore its connection with the water through its Fisheries Museum, or take a boat trip around the local coastline.

CRAIGTOUN COUNTRY PARK

A 47-acre park located a stone’s throw from St Andrews, it remains open 24/7 for everyone to enjoy. With everything from a miniature railway to go-karting and a golf course, it also has  a cafe to feed and fuel you for the day’s activities. 

ISLE OF MAY BOAT TRIPS

Summer  visitors can take a boat trip  to  the Isle of May to see an array of wildlife on this  wonderful nature reserve that’s sure to provide a memorable experience. 

KELLIE CASTLE AND GARDENS

With towers dating back to the 14th century, Kellie Castle stands as a fantastic way to delve into Fife’s history. Various facilities, from their Arts & Crafts garden to their Stables provides guests
an array of activities sure to provide a memorable experience.​​

SCOTTISH DEER AND WILDLIFE PARK

The Park offers an unforgettable opportunity to see a range of animals including twelve species of deer from around the world, and Fife’s only wolf pack. Look out for special events throughout the year.

ST ANDREWS CASTLE AND CATHEDRAL

The Castle and Cathedral greet visitors from all over the world. With intertwined histories involving the Archbishops of St. Andrews, these historic ruins provide an excellent way to  learn more about one of Scotland’s most famous towns.  

THE SECRET BUNKER

A fascinating piece of history, an unsuspecting farmhouse hides a Cold War Nuclear bunker. Open to the public, it’s an intriguing, bizarre, and truly unique opportunity for any visitor to the East Neuk of Fife.  

For the convenience of dog walkers, we have installed a drinking water tap at the front of the hotel. There is also  a bicycle rack for cyclists.
